Re: MEA Fall Meeting
Save the Date: The MEA Advisory Committee has set the date October 17, 2020, at Soaring Eagle Casino, Mount Pleasant, Michigan, commencing with registration at 11:00am with the Fall Meeting to begin promptly at Noon on that day. The meeting is expected to last approximately 2-3 hours.
Fall Meeting: The 2020 Fall Convention has been cancelled due to the inability of the Radisson Hotel to provide adequate facilities in view of the State COVID-19 Orders. However, the Bylaws require MEA to conduct a Fall Meeting on the third weekend of October to attend to various business matters that will come before the session, and the Advisory Committee has set October 17, 2020, for that purpose.
COVID-19 Precautions: All attendees will be screened, and temperatures taken before entry. Face masks/face shields will be required for all attendees throughout the meeting, NO EXCEPTIONS. Face masks must cover both nose and mouth, and secured behind the ears. Neckerchiefs, Scarves, Gators, and similar coverings are unacceptable and not permitted. A limited number of face masks will be available, but you are strongly encouraged to bring your own.
The meeting room will be accessed by an outside entrance that does not require entry into the Casino area. Attendees will be seated at round tables, four to a table, with tables spaced 6 or more feet apart.
Attendees: Lodges must provide a list of names, designating Delegate or Non-Delegate, of any Delegates and other members who WILL be attending by email to the Special Deputy GER and the State Secretary on or before September 13, 2020, to provide adequate time to arrange adequate seating. Any other attendees (State or District Officers, Committees members, Grand Lodge Officers and Committee members) must also send their confirmation of attendance prior to that date. Failure to do so may result in a denial of entry. There is no registration fee, but pre-registration is required.
Housing: There will be no housing provided by the association, but the Casino will block a limited number of rooms that can be reserved by attendees at a rate of $289/night.
Amenities: Health Department regulations will allow no food to be brought in from the outside, so plan accordingly before you enter. Limited water and soda will be provided.
Further Information: Further detail will be forthcoming, but if you have questions or concerns, call or email the Special Deputy GER.
