To All Members:
Here is some information about the upcoming Grand Lodge events.
We will be staying at the Hyatt Regency on Nicollet Mall, two tenths of a mile from the Convention Center, and there is a covered walkway to take us there that is air conditioned in the summer. The room rates are as follows: Singe and double occupancy $119; triple occupancy $144; and quad occupancy $169 plus a tax currently at 14.025%. The rates shall also apply to those who wish to stay 3 days before or after the convention. There will also be a $50 per-day incidentals hold on your credit card (4 days $200) that will be reimbursed to you. Valet parking will be $40 per day. There is parking directly across the street, and those rates are $30 per day for com-and-go privileges and $25 per day to just park there for the duration.
Michigan night will be on Monday July 3 at a place called The Devil’s Advocate, an Italian restaurant with GREAT food. They are going to open just for us, and we will have the entire restaurant to ourselves. Afterward, they will be a large selection of desserts in the Hospitality Suite. We will be making up packets for all who will be going with a list of restaurants close by and maps of the area along with transit maps. These will be passed out at the State Convention in May.
When we visited in December with PSP Stan and Cheryl, we felt safe walking around. There was a lot of police presence downtown and many “ambassadors” (green shirts) who are there to help you with directions or will walk with you to help you feel safe.
There is NO SHUTTLE to the hotel so you will need to get a taxi, Uber, or to rent a car. They do have some transportation to downtown, but the drop-off is seven blocks north of hotel. PLEASE Google this ahead of time so you can find the best way to get there.
The 2023 convention event schedule is now available for review. Reservations will be accepted starting May 1st.

Remember, pre-registration closes 06/28/2023. You will not be able to pre-register after that date.
By pre-registering and pre-paying online, you’ll save $10.00 off of the on-site registration fee of $60.00. Prior to registering, please review this year’s guidelines.
Important Note:
Every Member of the Elks must submit their own registration using their own elks.org account. This is true even for married couples, or other members of the same family.
State Shirts are available in the Store. For the first time ever, you have the option of personalizing your shirt with your lodge number and your name
At this time, no Michigan Delegation – specific side adventures have been announced. Please refer to the National Elks page for more information
Important Notice Regarding Michigan Night
Due to a problem with the restaurant that we initially booked for Michigan night, it became necessary to change the venue and the date.
New Date: Tuesday, July 4, 2023 – 5:00 to 7:00 PM
New Venue: Brit’s Pub, 1110 Nicollet Mall

Green Salad with Vinaigrette
