Our Mission
Welcome to the Michigan Elks Association Major Project page!
Our Commission, established in 1957, was created to provide a way for the State Elks Association member lodges to be able to come together with all of the lodges throughout the state to provide assistance for children with special needs! One lodge alone cannot meet the needs, but TOGETHER, we can!
The Commission is made up of 6 duly elected District Commissioners, who serve a six-year term as well as the current State President (the voting members). The Michigan Elks Association 1st and 2nd Vice President’s and the Executive Director (who is responsible for the administration, marketing and communication arm of the Commission) round out the team (non-voting members).
This Commission works throughout the year to meet the needs of the children we all serve, meeting three times per year; our Annual Meeting (held in March/April), Spring Business meeting (held the 3rd week in May at the Spring Michigan Elks Convention), the Fall Business meeting (held the 3rd week in October at the Fall Michigan Elks Convention, as well as monthly Commission conference calls and daily/weekly emails.
