Dear Exalted Rulers, Secretaries and Lodge Leaders,
Are you looking for new ideas and ways to increase and improve Lodge activities, member involvement, fundraising, community activities or other areas of your Lodge? The best source of this information is from your fellow Michigan Elks and at your District and State gatherings?
One of the benefits of attending the Michigan State Convention is the sharing of ideas and coming up with new and different ways to help your Lodge become more successful. At the Convention, you will have access to this information from other MI Lodge Leaders and your fellow-Elks during Business Sessions, special break-out sessions, between sessions, during meals, and in perhaps the best networking spots – the Hospitality Rooms. “It’s not always the first idea that is the best, but it leads to the next idea and then the next, which leads to the best idea” for your Lodge.
Another benefit of attending District Meetings and State Conventions is the most-current information and knowledge you will gain about ENF, Veterans, Membership, Scholarships, Drug Awareness, Public Relations, State Major Projects, Community Investment Grants and other Grand Lodge, State and Lodge programs.
Our MEA Fall Convention in Kalamazoo is less than a month away!! At this Convention, we will be hosting our Grand Exalted Ruler and First Lady, Mike and Barb Luhr, from Petersburg, Alaska. They are a great couple and wonderful Ambassadors for Elkdom, and you will certainly enjoy the opportunity to meet them.
We are also privileged to welcome Brian O’Neill, our Grand Lodge Insurance Manager, and his wife Linnea. Brian, with his vast experience as a practicing attorney and knowledge of the insurance industry, has been a welcome addition to our Grand Lodge Insurance Program. He has an easy manner and engaging way of explaining exposures and coverage, and how best to protect your Lodge against and handle unwanted claims.
Please don’t miss this opportunity to share in the fun and excitement, as we come together to enjoy each other, celebrate accomplishments and learn valuable information to take back to our Lodges.
All my best,
Ron Hicks
PGER and Proud MI Sponsor
